Today the 6th grade is taking a trip to water park called Splash Down Beach (even though it isn't a beach). It is our social. A social in our school is when one grade goes bowling, ice skating, etc. Our social was going to be snow tubing but the lodge at the snow tubing place was being rebuilt so we couldn't go. So the school let us go to Splash Down. Yay!

I hope you had a great day at Splash Down. We have a water park near our house too. It has always been one of my childrens' favorite places. We also have a zoo nearby, which they also loved until a gorilla escaped from his cage one day when they were there...but that's another story! A looooong story!

That is so cool! I love water places, and to tell you the truth, if I were in your position, I would be happy that they went with the water park than a snow place. I'd rather cool down than freeze!

Dear Royal, I like water parks better too. When my teacher asked who had been to the snow tube place as well, liked which better everyone who had been there (including me) raised their hand.

I may live in Iowa now but I'm from Dutchess County, NY originally and know Splashdown well, not that I've ever splashed there myself. But I drove by it all the time. Glad to hear it's still there...and hope you had a good time.
