Unfortunately it IS happening on the Left; it's happening with Sanders.

Don't get me wrong; I'm hard Left and I like a lot of what Sanders brings to the party (even if he can't quite bring himself to the Party except every four years...). But I like what he brings; the man himself is a sort of humorless, hectoring old floop. He would have a hell of a time in office simply because I don't think he has a clue how to actually deal with the insane level of Republican obstruction he would encounter other than do what he seems to do in the Senate; hector and gripe and badger at them.

But I keep getting these bizarre Seventies-rock-festival-poster quality messages from the "Our Revolution" outfit that lack anything but cult of personality love for Bernie. Got one today that was slagging off on Liz Warren because she's...well, basically, not "Bernie" enough. Not "authentic". Wasn't there in the Summer of Love fighting The Man.

It doesn't matter to the senders that Warren has actually thought out the path to leftist progress in the face of horrific reactionary obstruction, or that she has, in may ways, thought out things that Bernie glosses over.

It's just pure emo directly from the hindbrain, and all very frustrating.

Actually, in his past I happen to know Voight was NOT a Conservative Republican. In 1972 - he visited my college campus campaigning for Eugene McCarthy.
