Because fascists always want to send their political enemies to the camps?

Really...why else would someone want this? The whole point of the American Experiment was that our politics wasn't supposed to be a zero-sum game. If you lost, you became the Loyal Opposition and put your case to the People the next time they went to the polls.

So regardless of their visibility, these people are still wearing their mental brownshirts. They're still the enemies of the Republic. They are still the Davises, the Lees, the Beauregards, the Jacksons, of the New Confederacy hoping and dreaming of the days when they can put their enemies - the libs, the queers, the furriners, the darkies - behind the wire and Make America White Again.

We who hate the idea that this sickness is that deep and that incurable hate to admit it. But these folks aren't saveable. And at some point, if we don't want Mike Pence to become the Man in the High Castle we will need the steel and the plow and the bag of salt.
