Uncle Merlin

You cite us keeping our Republican governor here in Massachusetts, a candidate I voted for. But and this but is important our Republican governor is a Rockefeller Republican not one of those Tea Party fools out there. A dying breed to be sure. With that we can still kept the balance between Democrats and Republicans here, which I find refreshing! Mayor Pete has my focus and $$ for now. Harris really impressed me this week speaking to our snake of an AG. She has a sharp legal mind and is fierce. Booker had me impressed until I heard rumblings from NJ that he’s not completely honest about where he is in life. If he comes clean during the campaign that would be a big step forwards.

Mayor Pete is young and he is definitely not as left as me, but when I see Mike Pence or Franklin Graham or random protesters in TX come for him, man I get protective as all hell. I was a questioning high school kid looking to get my near-queer ass beat in a more or less liberal urban environment, so I don't know what it's like coming to grips with one's sexuality in way more conservative small town or military environments--so I give him a lot of respect, and I also appreciate his obvious raw intellect--but I feel like pundit was a learned language, for him, and I would really rather he shoot for Indiana Gov. I don't know that he could change that state, but making a difference where he lives, for the broader group of people living there, who got told by Mike Pence that maybe businesses shouldn't respect them as customers or even human beings if they didn't approve of their amative tendencies.

I will continue to claim Harris and Warren are for me the only people I really consider in this race. Biden wants the job, but I don't know why and I don't know if he does. I think a lot of others are just here raising their profiles. Harris has the mind and I think would wreck Trump in a debate--Warren is a brilliant policy person. But I am done thinking we still have this group to court on the right. the 90% of Republicans who like Trump don't give us a lot to work with.

'way off topic. South Bend isn't a port town. It's like 50 miles of very twisty, shallow St. Joseph's river to St. Joe -- no way any commercial vessel could make that trip. Also, the way to Chicago by river is across Lake Michigan, not through Gary (I grew up there, on the banks of the other river that could catch fire)

As for the Prez race, clearly no woman, nor person of color, can win the office. It will take a white man, who was the governor of an industrial state. And based on the Current Occupant, it will not matter if he is corrupt or criminal. So we better get Blagojevich out of prison...
