Air the speech on a one hour delay, with fact-checking from a couple of progressive democrats.

It wasn't very interesting, and Trump looked comatose -- even he is bored by MS13 and "the crisis at the border" now. Apparently he told the networks earlier in the day that he didn't really want to do the address -- likely after somebody told him that no, you can't just "declare an emergency" and get whatever money you want. Trump thought he could just double down and win, like he did with Kavanaugh. Pelosi won't knuckle under and she's preventing Schumer from caving too.
I thought the Dem response was pretty good, though the pundits complained about the lack of theatre -- I guess they would have preferred Lin Manuel tap-dancing among the red trees, singing "They can't take that away from me".
Anyway, the way the shutdown will end is for the Senate to revolt against McConnell and vote a veto-proof majority to approve the Dem house bills. That will take another two weeks, I would think, after government workers have missed another pay cheque and airports are closing due to sick-outs.
