Bill James had a category for pitchers he called "tough losses", IIRC it was defined as a loss in which the pitcher threw a "quality start", which James defined as a "game score" >50:
(Game Score:
Start with 50 points.
Add 1 point for each out recorded, so 3 points for every complete inning pitched.
Add 2 points for each inning completed after the 4th.
Add 1 point for each strikeout.
Subtract 2 points for each hit allowed.
Subtract 4 points for each earned run allowed.
Subtract 2 points for each unearned run allowed.
Subtract 1 point for each walk.)

Sounds like deGrom is getting a bunch of tough losses hung on him because the Mets as a team kinda stink.

One of my favorite players from the Blue Jays was Jose Bautista, who has now landed with the Mets. Joey Bats isn't quite the home run powerhouse he used to be but he still comes through a lot of the time - he had 6 rbis the other day! Hope he continues to contribute

Late to the post but alas the Met's as a franchise have a track record of not supporting their pitchers - in 1978 Craig Swan led the league with a 2.78 ERA and ended up with a 9-6 record.
The most glaring example was form 1969 I think when Tom Seaver pitched a complete game shut out and scored the only Met's run by hitting a home run).
