If public libraries didn't already exist, it would be very difficult to start them now.
Lawyers for "content" rights-holders : You mean to make out product free to anyone who walks in the door? At taxpayers' expense? We can't have government competing with the private sector and undermining our pricing structure, on which our business depends.
Republican candidate : Socialism!
Tax-averse voter : I don't ever go to the library anyway.
