Gene Hackman, in 1972, Los Angeles, played the bad cop in Cisco Pike.

Not a decent person. But a good movie about pot, lost promise, and Karen Black's breasts.

Also, it has beach scenes and kills Harry Dean Stanton.

Nondisposable Johnny

Lovely post. Jodi Foster was the better grown-up actress (probably because she worked at it). She wasn't the better kid actress because nobody was. No need to bring sentimentality to your choice. From the way you describe the daughter, she sounds like a slightly older Addie Pray anyway and you've made me doubly regret that I missed this in the theater!
