This brought back memories of all those visits to the Hayden Planetarium in NYC when I was a kid. One of the lectures was on the star of Bethlehem. (Being Jewish, this was probably the first time I had heard of it, and it would be years before I learned of the related Buddhist traditions.) The conjunction of Jupiter and Venus was one of the theories proposed.

Back then, planetariums had good, old fashioned lectures with the amazing bug eyed projector in the center of the room and a lecturer with a flashlight that projected a green arrow and probably inspired a comic book character or two. They still give lectures like this at the Bishop Planetarium in Honolulu. Most planetariums nowadays just show movies. It just isn't the same.
