The conventional wisdom seems to be that the Democrats had a "turnout" problem. The head of the DNC (Debbie W-S) is among those saying it. They are VERY wrong. I know tons of lifelong Democrats and unaffiliated voters who did vote ... and voted for Republicans. All they know is they don't really like Obama, the economy is not good, they are fearful about numerous things, and in their minds Democrats stand for nothing except the bad stuff that they kept hearing in Republican attack ads. As awful as Republican candidates have been in recent election cycles, they have successfully rebranded themselves as being somewhat populist and reasonable. Plus anyone who goes to church knows that Republicans are the only "real" Americans. I go to the gym, "normal" people watch Fox news and think they are doing a good thing by getting informed. Democrats are in BIG trouble for the next few cycles. Thanks go to Rahm & Obama for getting rid of Howard Dean and his 50 state strategy, and to the DLC for destroying the Democratic party 25-30 years ago.
