Bill Hicks

I put this photo up on my desk top, so I get to study it when my computer opens. There's so much detail. Notice the little kids in a group back past the line of carts. And what are they waiting to pick up? Vegetables? Coal? The smoking fire in the path. The mysterious stuff in the building, almost coming out of the windows. The rushing man behind the line of carts, blurred. Was this on the Brooklyn side? The fact that this New York City is utterly gone, less than 100 years ago. Or is the building still there? I'd love to go find it. And is this sunrise (my guess), or sunset, in which case the carts are lining up to stall their horses for the night.
