Unfortunately most of us let our politics inform our faith, instead of the other way around. I hope you won't continue to let your view of the "evangelicals" who are politically active warp your opinion of the millions of Christians who really are doing their best to become more like Christ. More importantly, I hope you won't let them stop you from pursuing Him yourself.

Anonymouse

To S. McCoy above, when will the millions of Christians who "really are doing their best to become more like Christ" start acting like it? Why are only this so-called minority of Christians the only ones we hear from? Even if not for love of Christ, but simple self-preservation, they need to speak up and act up, because the minority will be coming for them. Eventually.

S McCoy

Well Anonymouse, I'm not sure what we can do to "start acting like it" to your satisfaction short of becoming Dem activists. My observation is that most Christians I know are politically apathetic, as they've come to realize that both parties' solutions are worthless. But I don't think there's much chance of winning them over with the pattern of hostility the lefties have adopted. I've tried to encourage Lance not to equate the term "evangelical" with "rabid right wing zealot". But hey!, it's his website.

BTW, I'd be really interested to know which conservative Christian leaders you find to be the most offensive and/or terrifying these days. Thanks!
