Hey, that wasn't the first time I watched Sherlock. I saw all of them as soon as they aired in Britain. But the situation was, I'd just 30 minutes earlier watched The Killing, a grittily realistic crime drama from Denmark.

I think really I'm just sick and tired of the gimmicks: The Mind Palace, the immediate gleaning of one's entire life story from examining the fingernails, etc. They need new gimmicks, desperately.

Might I suggest a Faroes Isle snowflake jumper?

Also, a few months ago I saw Benedict Cumberbatch at The National Theatre as we were leaving. Happiest moment of my life. (I also saw him play Frankenstein at the same theatre, but this was much better.)

KathyF, was BC playing the monster or Victor that night? Was Jonny Lee Miller still alternating the roles with him? Funny how they both wound up playing Sherlock Holmes on TV at the same time.

Definitely Cumberbatch. And the idea of Cumberbatch and Damon together in something is marvelous.

The plots can be silly (even as riffs), but the chemistry between Cumberbatch and Freeman is fantastic (as is much of the dialogue).
