I rather like the term 'hangman's fracture.' Apart from that, this sucks! I'm glad you're finding an alternative way to write, and I really hope that meds and physical therapy can put you back on your feet, or off your back, or, well, you know.

Kevin Wolf

I hope your situation improves soon. Sounds like you've at least got a handle on it for now.

I'm glad you found something that works. Back troubles can be very sneaky that way. I've found tai chi really good for my lower back injury.

Sorry to hear about that. As a therapist and someone who's been there, I can tell you the most likely course is meds/PT combo and then surgery. And the surgery's fast, relatively easy, and pretty short recovery time. If they'll let you get away with it, I'd opt for the surgery rather than go through months of expensive PT and then decide you have to have the surgery anyway.

So glad you're feeling some better, although I have to admit I was enjoying the irritated Lance of the tweets.

Thanks for the well-wishes, folks. It's still up and down, good days and bad. Yesterday was hard. Today's ok so far. But at least I have an idea where things are headed.

echidne, my son the brown-belt has learned some tai chi as part of his karate training and he's going to teach me some moves. He's very excited about it. I'm not sure but I suspect part of the fun for him's going to be getting to boss around the old man.

stingraylady, thanks for that. It's good to know and have in mind. I'm going back to orthopedist's in two weeks. (He can't see me any sooner.) I'll report back.

JD, don't worry, I'm still pretty irritable.

I'm glad you're feeling better and that soon you will be back to normal. I do want you to be able to write that post you promised about New Spock and New Uhura's romance!

Lance Mannion

Fran, thank you. That post is one of the ones stuck in my notebook. I'm wondering if I should hold it until Into Darkness comes out on DVD now, considering how much time has passed since it opened in the theaters. I've got a title for it. The Romance of the Greenblooded Hobgoblin. What do you think?
