[Mild spoilers herein.] Based on your posts and everything else I'd heard I expected the whole movie would be a travesty. But I just saw it and it's not as bad as it could have been, given the poor writing and the utter lack of understanding Snyder and Goyer have for their title character and his mythos. Still, it's not good. As others have pointed out, it's got terrible and completely unnecessary echoes of 9/11. And, as you've explained, Lance, some of the dialog and attitudes of the characters simply do not belong in a Superman story. Supes' lack of awareness re loss of life is unfathomable—unless we realize that it's not Superman but the filmmakers' cavalier attitudes that drive the story (such as it is).
