I haven't read a regular monthly comic book since forever, but suddenly you've made me curious about The Flash. Sounds like my kind of book. Luckily, Salem has an excellent comic shop where I can check it out.

The idiots running DC have no idea of how to handle their characters. One of the reasons to reboot the Lois/Clark marriage was to go back to the old triangle. That no longer exists. And every time I see Barry Allen going out with Patty Whatsherface, I just think he's cheating on Iris.

"it seems that each new generation of artists and writers thinks they now own the myths and have the incontestable right and even the duty to fiddle with them in any way feel inspired to." Slight correction - the writers and artists are work for hire. These types of decisions are made by the editors. And it's true for "the gangs" of editors at both of the Big Two.
