The irony is, all the Founders they revere so would be going apeshit at the anarchical leanings of the current Teabaggers and would have wanted a strong Federal government to make sure things didn't get out of hand, particularly economically, as Adam Smith warned.

Earl Bockenfeld

I would hope the (JUST say NO, GOP would have the guts to say/demand) that if the government can't pay anything due to their stubborn debt-ceiling default - That the congressional salaries should be the first thing unpaid until the crisis is over.

Another error in their so-called logic is that "The problem is spending and NOT revenue". As us older people remember Clinton had a surplus when he left office, and the actual deficit problem is due to the "Bush Tax Cuts" that the GOP voted for, and demanded be extended.

The GOP is the problem, and they are acting like terrorists now.

For a bunch who claim to revere the Constitution as much as the Tea Party politicians claim.. by God, do they want to do some serious violence to it. They can't shut up about what they'd add or change.

Lance Mannion

Belvoir, I think their attitude towards the Constitution is the same as their attitude towards the Bible. It says whatever they want it to say. They know what God was thinking and they know what the Founders were thinking, because it's what they think. So any changes they make to the Constitution will automatically bring it back in line with the Founders' original intent, which happens to be whatever they need it to have been.
