Wednesday update: Of course you're welcome to make a donation, it would still be a big help and much appreciated, but as I promised my fundraising drive is over. Thank you very much to everyone who donated. And thanks to one and all for your patience. I'll be at the play Sunday and will be able to make a few more trips down to review other plays over the summer, due to your generosity, kindness, help, and support.
Monday afternoon update: Almost there. Only 5 more donations to meet the goal. Please help me reach the goal. Thank you, folks!
New post on female love interests in non-Spielberg Spielberg movies below.
Reaching the end of the fundraising drive and I hope you don't mind if I make one last appeal. This drive has been a big help, thanks to those who have donated so far, and I've almost reached my goal of being able to make the next several trips to New York City, starting with next Sunday's to review Unnatural Acts at CSC. I figure that $200 will do it.
I don't like to make suggested donation amounts when I do this because I want people to feel free to give whatever they want, even, seriously, if it's only ten cents. Every little bit helps and is much appreciated. Whatever you give goes into the hat with other people's donations and it adds up. But I have said it before, the actual suggested donation is $1. I'm very lucky. I have a pretty good number of regular readers and if 1 out of 10 you were to donate a dollar, I'd be all set. So please donate whatever you feel you can swing.>
But it is Sunday and traffic here on Sundays fluctuates wildly from week to week. Thanks to a link from Matt Zoller Seitz to yesterday's post about David Mamet I've had a higher number of conservatives stopping by than usual. They'd probably be shocked to find out how many of my readers spend their Sunday mornings in church with their families. But it's a busy day for the the unbelievers among us too. So what I'm hoping today is that there are 20 of you passing through who can swing a $10
So, this is it for the fundraising until November. Thanks again to everyone who's donated this time and during past drives. And thanks again to all of you for reading.
Newer posts below. I'm glad people are enjoying the Mamet post, but I hope you also check out the review of The Wilder Life. Actually, I hope you check out all my recent book reviews. (Links in the right-hand sidebar.) It's an interesting collection of books and I've had a good time reading all of them.
