Bravo! Very well said! In my younger days, I worked as assistant counsel for a large corporation. So I can speak both as a progressive and as someone who used to be a corporate insider and was even occasionally required to lobby the feds and NY State on behalf of my corporate employer. You are precisely right on all counts.




I just read over on DKos that the President may not have been aiming his remarks so much at the CEOs as at the audience at home (including, presumably, his progressive supporters). Beating up on the plutocrats, who of course won't lose any sleep over it.

You're right that it's not the job of business to save the economy. But what if business, through campaign contributions (Citizens United) and lobbyists, have made it impossible for government to save the economy? Who's left? Tony Stark?
