Watching dancers abusing their bodies and actresses experimenting with lesbian sex?

Of course, HAD you reviewed this movie, I would have known this and bought a ticket....

I absolutely loved the visual experience, the suspense, and the acting while at the same time hating everything it stood for. Surely there are SOME ballerinas who are happy and not having vicious rivalries while being sexually manipulated by their troupe leader? Surely some ballerinas manage to stop being ballerinas without going nuts and harming themselves and others? Surely sometimes genius can come appear while being well adjusted? Gabriel Garcia Marquez thought so.

But I'd watch it again. I kind of hate myself.

The theme of "Black Swan" depicts a very real dilemma for dancers -- how to move beyond technique and perfectionism to real expression. Aronofsky's methods are classic old Hollywood; expressionistic and enjoyable (if you don't mind a little melodrama). It's a horror movie for grown-ups.

See it! Well, sez me. We always seem to disagree about movies, but I still dare say you will be glad you did.
