Really? I guess you see what you want to see but it's a stretch for me to see Mrs. Failenson as vulnerable and in pain. She treated Paul like her very own Ken doll, choosing his clothes and that frou-frou furniture. To say she paid his bills implies that he was allowed to go shopping on his own.

Then there's her "Well, I do believe love has come to Andy Hardy" scene where she whips out her checkbook to help him get over his new crush. "What is she? Waitress? Salesgirl? No, she'd have to be rich, wouldn't she? You boys should get together and organize yourselves into a union so you'd get un-employment insurance between ... entanglements." I'm not saying he doesn't deserve this, but who's treating whom with contempt here?

By the way, did you hear that Emma Thompson has called Audrey Hepburn "twee"? At least Audrey never starred in Nanny McPhee.
