For a while now I’d been considering taking down the old wooden swing set in the backyard. The boys outgrew it several years ago and it had become basically a lawn ornament without the whimsy of a garden gnome or the aesthetic appeal of one of those polka dot dress wearing ladies bending over backsides.
But I kept putting it off because Oliver Mannion liked going out there at various times of day to sit on a swing and think.
Yesterday evening he was out back thinking when he heard something creak and then crack.
Yikes!
He jumped off before it came down on his head and got away with no bumps, cuts, scrapes, bruises, or splinters, but it was a close shave.
Now I’m torn between feeling guilty for not having taken the damn thing down ages ago and excitement at having an excuse to use the circular saw.
You should be both but a little more of the former! You KNOW Uncle M always stresses MAINTENANCE MAINTENANCE MAINTENANCE!!!!

Y'know, a circular saw isn't really the best tool for demo. You really need a reciprocating saw and a couple of fire and rescue blades. After all, a good disaster is a waste if it doesn't lead to buying at least one new tool.

What Mike said, especially the bit at the end.
