No wolves at the door. No bears either. No bandits or Indians. No marauders of any kind on two feet or four. No storm. No high winds or rain. I’m not shutting anything out. I’m locking the snugness in.

Was speaking of this feeling with someone elsewhere recently. The idea of coziness is underrated. It's banished to the realm of the feminine and domestic, but it's a male happiness too, to know his family is safe, the doors are locked, tranquillity prevails for the night, a good book awaits in a comfortable bed, and all's right with the world tonight.
