Are these weekly round-ups useful to you? They’re beginning to depress the hell out of me.
They’re a chronicle of how lazy I’m getting.
I need to write more.
Tuesday I sang the praises of snail mail.
Wednesday I was a no-show.
Thursday night the First Virtual I Hate Robert Altman Film Festival returned with a discussion of Streamers and Sacred Honor, although none of us actually had much to say about Streamers. Nixon was more on our minds.
Friday I took another day off. What did I say about getting lazy?
Saturday, I got to wondering about what’s going on in Doonesbury and why Garry Trudeau seems determined to make a complete fool out of Jeff Redfern. What has Jeff done that’s so bad? Besides shoot down an American helicopter?
Saturday I got nostalgic for Northern Exposure and posted a clip from one of my favorite episodes.
Sunday I sent you all a virtual postcard from a walk I took along the river the previous Sunday.
And this morning I recounted a conversation I had yesterday afternoon with a very nice old couple I met at the bookstore. Too bad they were Tea Partiers.
Seven days, three posts, plus a photograph and a YouTube video. Practically a vacation. I’ll have to get on the stick this week.
Just a reminder, this coming Thursday night the Robert Altman thing concludes with a live-blogging of Popeye. Fun starts at 9:15 EDT. Bring your own popcorn.
