C'mon, it's somebody else's turn.

The Rays v. Philly

About all baseball purists will be able to smile about is this is KILLING Fox's ratings.

Actor, they're both pretty good teams. The purists might actually like the matchup.

Personally, I'd be happy if it went 7 games. I'm tired of sweeps and 5-gamers.

Mike Schilling

Both are teams that haven't been there for a while (or ever), and Tampa Bay got there with a lot of above-average players but no big stars. As a baseball purist, I'm stoked.

From the baseball purist perspective, how about that the players on both sides who got these two teams there are pretty much home grown talent. Sure Fox might like to see the Dodgers/Sox - but the Dodgers only got there by signing Manny last minute. And the Sox have become a money-ball club not so unlike the Yankees that they hate.

Seems like the Rays deserved it having gotten out of that division as the winner is remarkable. And as for the Phils - the city hasn't won a major championship since 83 and has but a single WS championship in its history -- I don't know how anyone can begrudge them a fair shot at it.
