For me, the best moment, the most powerful, the most inspiring, the most fun, and the most like him, came right at the beginning.
He essentially opened with a laugh.

You are absolutely right, Lance. Though the laugh made me cry. At age 11, I fell in love with JFK at the 56 convention, when he made his unsuccessful vice presidential bid. Loving JFK, Bobby, and Teddy was good for me; it turned me into a political scientist and lifelong activist. I was an active volunteer in the 1960 election, at the age of 15.

Lance - I'm afraid we're going to agree to disagree on this one.
I have no use for Edward Kennedy for reasons that have nothing to do with his politics.
(I just want to interject that I wouldn't wish a brain tumor on anyone and I hope he recovers and lives for many more years.)
Edward Kennedy should have gone to prison for killing 28-year old Mary Jo Kopechne in 1969. He drove her off a bridge, freed himself from the car and left her there to rot.
And the price he paid for that? His license was suspended and he didn't get to be President.

I laughed and cried.
