So I'm trying to follow tonight's game against the Dodgers on Yahoo's GameChannel while catching up on some blog reading and I just looked over and saw that the Mets are now up 4 to 1 because Moises Alou stole home!
Is this a joke?
What's Alou? Like a hundred and five?
His legs are shot.
How in the name of Jackie Robinson can Moises Alou steal home?
Did the pitcher fall asleep?
Somebody tell me if this really happened and how and if Alou's still alive.
Yes, it happened. Yes, he lived. However, the Dodgers won the game on an inside-the-park home run by their rookie 3rd baseman (who was supposed to start the year in Double A ball but then Nomar got hurt and the other rookie LaRoche got hurt and...)
It was a double steal. The throw went through to second base and the shortstop double-clutched before throwing home attempting to get Alou, and it came in high. Alou slid under the tag.
That was a weird game. The long relief guy came in for the Dodgers in the fourth inning and struck out the first six guys he faced. I'd like to have seen it, but Fox Prime Ticket got the wrong feed up out here and showed me Fox Kansas City and the Royals-Angels with the KC announcers. The other Fox station had the Royals-Angels with the LAA announcers.

All right; you and Scott Lemieux both posted this, so one more and I have to believe it happened.
Next you'll tell me that the Republican crossover vote in Indiana cut into HRC's margin.
