The Maverick and Commander never flips, never flops, never lies, never backs down...

It's good that local newspapers are pointing out the real ambitious weasel behind the Maverick and Commander's straight-talking bluster.

From an editorial in today's Times Herald-Record:

So much for John McCain as the maverick with integrity. Given a chance to put into the form of a vote the eloquent and personal stand he has taken about the use of torture, he failed the test.

I second that. Maybe the Maverick Myth will get debunked after all. BTW, I did a double-take when I saw the link to The Record - I didn't expect to see a blog linking to my hometown paper!
