I just saw that and thought the same thing. I was so, so sad that Suzanne Pleshette died, but I hate, hate, hate, the ones you don't expect. I know it happens. Still...

Good lord, this was the first I'd heard. I assumed you were talking about Suzanne Pleshette, even thought 70 isn't THAT young. When I saw it was Heath Ledger, I thought it had to be a joke. What a sin. Too damn young.

I'm really upset about this. Way too young. Too much left to give.

shock and disbelief the more i think on it.
so young like my grandfather at 27!

I almost think it was not an accident it's so odd. But then again we only see the public sides of people.

I'm shocked and saddened. I was just listening to the I'm Not There soundtrack today and thinking about his excellent performance in the film. Sigh.

It's the first great young iconic Hollywood celebrity death since James Dean and Marilyn Monroe. (Brad Renfro, for all his beauty, doesn't count.) The legend will probably be similar, with its own twists, and there's at least one performance by Ledger, as Ennis in "Brokeback Mountain," that will eventually be as iconic as Dean in "East of Eden."
