Wow, I hate Harriet and I think she has no chemistry with Matt. And Danny as a father? Wow, that's gonna be a screwed-up kid. And...oh.

Tom W.

Great Andy Griffith on TVLand - from the underrated 1968 season, all about Goober's love life. Definite Tivo Territory.

I skipped all the Monday night shows. As a Mets fan, I still need my baseball fix, so I watched the Rockies-Padres game. The that's how a team is supposed to come back and win a game!

i watched ken burns' documentary on ww2.

(posted on tuesday morning.)

Alejandro and Maya are boring me to tears. Sticky, thick black tears.

But can we throw some more water on Milo Ventimiglia's shirtless body, please? I'd watch more of that.

Has the new season started? Eureka and Doctor Who both have Season Finales this week. I get so confused.

Spent Monday catching up on Californication. Looks like the best train wreck since Action, but I can imagine the liveblogging lack-of-potential ("After all of those women in Female Superior, why are we subjected to Duchovny and McElhone in the missionary position?")

I second Karen's comment re the twins' ocular anomalies; a boring and pointless plot thread. I half expected Nicholas Lea's nefarious Agent Krycek to come trundling down the road in a truck, and offer them a lift... but, why rip off an old X-Files plot that made no sense in the first place?

And I would take shirtless Ventimiglia over pantsless Duchovny, any day.

It's just a thought, but if there's not a huge specific demand for live-blogging "Heroes" per se (judging from the comments so far, at least), perhaps there might be for "TiVo-Delayed 'Heroes' Blogging:"

Someone could be the LM Wingman, recording the show from 9-10pm (would it have to be on the East Coast? Not sure.), then replaying it and blogging that, starting at 10pm, with the remote (and hence the pause button) right beside the keyboard.

It wouldn't be real-time, strictly speaking, but it would be close--and as a reader I might be willing to swap a little of the in-the-moment stream-of-consciousness quality for some that had a little (but not too much) more chance to let some of the details sink in, to make more connections, etc. Imagine something like live-blogging, but not tyrannized by the need to develop and type up a thought between scenes or during commercial breaks.

The disadvantage would be that we all wouldn't be at the exact-same point in the show at the same time, but in theory that would be offset by having the content be a little richer for not being off-the-cuff.

Again, just a thought.

As I mentioned to Lance in email:

Run, don't walk, to check out Aliens In America, on the CW. It's on just before Heroes.

It's an update on Freaks and Geeks - dorky high school kid in nowhere Wisconsin suddenly has an exchange student staying at his house - Pakistani Muslim.

Very funny. Very edgy - the most sympathetic guy on the show is the Pakistani kid.

Great stuff. (First episode was Monday)
