I don't remember; have you ever mentioned pets as members of the Mannion household? 'Cause it's easy to blame cats (climbing) or dogs (wagging) for tree crashes.

Speaking of reading despair into things ... The Little Fir Tree by Hans Christian Andersen is a big part of why we have a fake at the Siren's household. Poor little fir tree! It is a wonder that Andersen's stories didn't land me in therapy.

My cat sits right by the tree, with the tip of a branch about .5 inches from her mouth, so that she can chew on it the SECOND I look away. Thank god she's too fat and lazy to climb it, but she loves to chew the branches for some reason.
