Idyllopus blogs Robert Altman's California Split.
Spoilers galore, but I'm still going to watch it again as soon as I can get it here from Netflix.

It's very solid. I saw it a couple years ago in Seattle.

Isn't it great? I'd never seen it before and was pretty blown away. The acting is as wonderful as it gets, as is the camera work and editing--not to mention a great story. Segal is someone I didn't like for a very long while and yet I did and yet I didn't. I thought he was OK but never thought of him as a great actor. I always thought of him more as a personality. But he is pretty remarkable here. If you blog on it after watching, look forward to reading what you'll have to say. I stuck pretty much straight to plot spoiling with the blog of it because if I'd gotten into appreciatively analyzing bit by bit the post would have been a week long.
