Actually Lance, DMI is a non-partisan think tank - so yeah, we're on the progressive side trying to "out-think the right," but we're far from party-affiliated. Indeed, quite a few Republicans and independents have spoken at DMI events. Great series btw!

The people who voted stupidly don't need to hear it, he said.

"A lot of the people who voted stupidly are saying to themselves, Damn!  I voted stupidly!"

That was my favorite part of his speech. I loved listening to him.

Tom, there's something I need to fix! One thing Marsalis said is that he likes DMI because it isn't partisan. I'll edit it in.

Partisanship ... isn't much different from prejudice.

I couldn't agree MORE with that idea. I'm registered Dem, but have voted for Voinovich and a couple of local Republican Judges and Mayors. Can't say as I regret those decisions any more than some of the Dems to whom I've given my vote. Less in a couple cases.

BTW, I only left out the middle part for brevity, not because it doesn't equally well reflect my thinking.
