Don't worry - it looks like God has intervened. It's raining hard in Chicago right now, with thunderstorms predicted through tomorrow morning.

First weekend day I have free all year, and now this.

And they ask me back home why I'm a Cubs fan.

Remember when tradition dictated that Cincinnati got the first game date all to itself? The revenue-producing power of TV probably had something to do with that change.

SV, rain is apparently forecast for Los Angeles too. Out here in the Pacific we'd like to see clear skies; even the college team has been rained out about five times already this season (Manoa, not Hilo; Hilo expects to be rained out a lot).

I wonder where that apology ranks in the list of apologies that Bud Selig should be giving.

Rain delay! -- with only three and a half innings played, and now nearly quarter to ten local time. Could be that the season opens tomorrow after all. And could be that I'm blowing off work to celebrate.

Sigh...

We HAD to have it on Sunday night because ESPN wanted the world to see the World Series Champions in prime time.

By my count, last night's 10-4 thrashing of that Cleveland team makes 163 consecutive games in first place.

Just sayin'...

selig hasn't apologized about steroids invading the major leagues. do you think he's going to apologize for having the first game of the season on a sunday night?
