Last night the 11 year old was working hard on a short story he had to write for school when dinner time rolled around.
He came to the table, ate a few strands of spaghetti, declined any meatballs, and then pushed his plate away, saying he had to get back to his writing. When his loving parents nagged him to eat more he said that he was too busy to be hungry, plus it wasn't a good idea for him to eat much right then. His brother asked him why.
He said, "We writers can't eat very much because we have to keep ourselves light so our thoughts will soar."
Wow! He's clearly well on his way.
Did Papa M. eat his portion? That is not to say, of course, that Dad's thoughts are earthbound or anything.

Good kid. His writing is important to him. Next time, put his plate of food next to him. He'll graze while he's writing. That's what I do.

Clearly a chip off the old block! I mean his mother's block. Tell him to keep up the good work.
