I think the Pixar/Disney gang has a hard time thinking of smart things to do with the "Frozen" cast. I mean, the flick pretty much wrapped up the sistern-before-swain story, got Elsa firmly on the throne, and Anna her beau, which were the problems posed at the beginning of the screenplay and by the original Snow Queen tale. The easy stuff is off the table.

Now...I think there's some interesting things you COULD do with that group. Elsa's Snow Queen powers are still pretty scary; what would happen if she fell really ill and lost control of them again? The original wrapped Kristoff and Anna up neatly, but how neat is the domestic life of a palace brat and a kid from the snow slums? And how would Elsa deal with having to share her beloved sister with some mook with a sleigh and a reindeer bro?

The problem being that those would take more than a string of easy gags to write, and if there's one thing the Pixar seems to have trouble with since the Disnification it's clever writing. Their work seems to shade more towards the easy and sentimental - which is a shame, because when they're on they're really on.
