Mined from the notebooks, Saturday, December 2, 2017. Posted Saturday morning, December 9.
Wish I’d taken pictures:
This morning. Post office. Parking lot. Car with a handicapped tag hanging from rear view mirror and a sticker on the rear bumper.
Little later. Another lot. Grocery store. Pickup with a TRUMP sticker on the gate and a decal in the rear window identifying owner as a Vietnam Vet. I’m telling you. They don’t think he’s talking about them. It’s as if they believe there’s a special exemption just for them:
"Not me! He means all the other people with disabilities. He means all the other veterans. He means all the other old and sick people. I'll be fine."
"My taxes won't go up. My kid's school won't close or have to hold bake sales to keep the lights on. I won't lose my health insurance..."
"Those people will suffer but I'll be taken care of. The president tells me so."
