This is why I get a terrific laugh at the people who are all afluffle at the notion that suspecting the President of the U.S. as a Russian stooge is just Too Awful To Contemplate.

Trump has been mobbed up...well, as long as he's been "Trump". I mean, the guy was a real estate shyster in New York. He was in the casino business, and in professional sports ownership. At least two of those three mean that he was pretty much by necessity dealing regularly with American mobsters and knowing it. And, presumably, liking it, given that he continued in those lines until failing spectacularly at them.

Then, so far as anyone can tell, he had to turn to Russian mobsters for money. Okay, "Russian bankers", which means mobsters, since in Russia mob banks you.

So I would be utterly shocked if, at some point back in early 2016, some Russian intel guy who is hooked into their mob moneymen came to his colonel-general and says "Hey, look; we've got a bought guy who's running for President on the right-wing ticket, he's all tied in with the (insert name of Russian mob outfit) guys. Yeah, he's a goombah and a fuckwit, but he's got their right-wing fascist loonies worked up and might even have a chance to play spoiler. Whaddya say we take a shot at seeing how far we can go with this idiot?"

And now we know.
