This extraordinary story could not have happened without the refreshing candor of you and your son. Thanks for both the candor and the story.

Wonderful little story. Thanks...

Amazing how dog stories can bring people together. This is our third Christmas without Buster, and people still talk about how he would drink the water from the tree stand. We had Zoe with him for about ten years, after a niece couldn't handle both a two-year old and a terrier, and now Zoe is getting on, older than Buster was when we lost him. We'll probably let her have us to herself for as long as she lasts, though we may have to relieve our niece again because their current dog is too noisy for the apartment neighbors.

Overlapping dogs is the only way to do it. The older one is so much help in civilizing a new puppy!
