"Same M.O.," Ryan said. Mannion nodded. "Sticking with your theory?" Ryan said. Mannion nodded again. Ryan said, "Captain's not gonna be happy."
"Tough thing to accept," Mannion said. "One of your own going bad like that."
"Shoulda kept him locked up," Ryan said.
The two detectives were silent for a minute. Then Mannion said, "Who'd have thought one little Pekingese had so much anger in him."
