Apparently Arlen Specter became a Democrat in order to give us a fresh appreciation for Joe Lieberman

I understand that Specter wants to assert his independence and make sure the world knows that he's abandoning his old party but not principles, whatever those are, but does he have to be such an asshole about it?

Updated to answer my own question:  Yes, apparently he does have to be such an asshole.  Just can't help himself.
