They just can't let us have our moment

ABC's Jake Tapper and George Stephanopolos just interrupted Hillary's speech to tell us that when she mentioned Barack Obama's name they heard some boos.

I didn't hear any myself, but what does it matter if a few nitwits booed, assuming they were even booing Obama and not the idea that Hillary was finally giving up?  Apparently a lot to Tapper and Stephanopolos. As I was storming out of the room in a rage to write this post, they were still gassing on and on about what a problem Obama's going to have uniting the party.

It's a great day for Democrats but the Insiders have to ruin it for us, because it's important for us all to know that everything's bad for the Democrats, even a celebration.

By the way, the moment they chose to interrupt her was while she was championing the Democratic message.  Can't have the audience thinking this election might actually be about something, can we.

They interrupted live coverage of her speech?

This is the kind of thing that makes me feel good about not having TV. (And if anyone has a link to the speech, please share it.)

MSNBC was quiet for the entire speech. The only annoying bit (DURING the speech) was the "Breaking News:This Is A Summary Of The Last Sentence She Spoke!" at the bottom of the screen.

Mike, Cilizza at WaPo has a blog post summarizing it, along with a vidlink.

Fuck these guys. Fortunately, hardly anyone actually watches these speeches anyway. I know I didn't.

the coverage on c-span was better than on Clinton's own site - you got to see them walk through the crowd from a long time before and for a long time after. Powerful stuff.

I found the enitre (almost; it stops abruptly at what seems to be just before the end) speech at http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/199210.php .

watching it at TPM would be like smelling a flower in a pile of poop.

I would have stormed to, LM. I got to watch it uninterrupted - and sent her a note right after saying how beautiful it was, and she was. And thanking her for so many things.

You dislike TPM, the guys who won an award for helping uncover the U. S. Attorneys scandal?

I now dislike TPM. I loved the site and raved about it when it was just Josh and I posted his links... but something happened to him and I dont go there anymore. And I never will.

I have successfully penetrated the enemy camp. I immediately established an account at mybarackobama, joined 10 groups, started blogging on feminism and the election, in order to help Obama supporters understand Hillary supporters and outraged feminists everywhere. Obviously the campaign has not thought through the dilemma of an influx of Hillary supporters into groups dedicated to viciously bashing her. Their new obsession is preventing her for being the VP. I love to debate, so I thrive in enemy territory. Too many posters are still looking in the rear view mirror, but lots of people are combatting that. I hope all my blogging and email is clearing the way for my less combative sisters.

It’s easy to make a splash. Start a blog, join ten groups, and send your posts to all of those groups. There aren’t many bloggers. Since FridayI have received about 24 requests for friendship and mostly warm welcomes from individuals. I have been told I am smart, perceptive, brilliant even. Someone told me he would like to clone 18 million of me. Men particularly want to be this grandma's friend.

I am combative. I am taking on vicious Hillary bashing and heroically refraining from Obama bashing. I am getting away with it because she who laughs, lasts, and I blow away most of them as a writer. Besides I am a wise 62-year-old grandma who, if they get nasty, gently reminds them that my English husband is exactly one month older than Obama. Any woman who can entice a man 16 years younger to leave home, job, and family and swim the Atlantic for her ain't a dried up old crone:)

In general, it is a safer place than many progressive blogs. I posted lightly at my old hunting grounds, Obsidian Wings. As always, I instantly became the new Hillaryeven though I am funnier than she is.

It has been a better experience than discussing politics with my 4 Obama-obsessed daughters in the last year. The more you succeed in not clipping your daughters’ wings, the more empowered they are to clip yours. I am using a pseudonym because my darlings don’t want anyone to know they are related to me. I knew they were wretches when they refused my entreaties to read Pride and Predudice for a decade. I, on the other hand, read it the day my mom gave it to me when I was 12. Ignoring Jane Austen is a more grave crime than supporting Obama.
