Because I need to clear my mind before getting down to the serious business of reviewing a movie...
...I just have to say:
If you're making an emotionally intense but quiet and understated intimate drama about a couple torn apart by their grief over the death of their little boy, and the broken-hearted wife and mother is played by Heather Graham, including a scene of Graham naked, on her knees and elbows, in bed, demanding that her lover for the night spank her and call her a bad mother is a very brave and risky artistic decision, although not necesarilly the smartest one.
If you manage to get away with it, you are on your way to making a pretty good movie.

If you can get Heather Graham to act, you're an amazing director.

Heather Graham has no need to act. Herself is just fine, TYVM. And if she needs to be spanked and called a bad mommy, well..............I'm available.

Fine as long as being a mommy's a game. If it's real it demands constant devotion. And while I can go along with a "bad mommy being spanked," it certainly makes me wish our culture provided other, and honorable, ways to grieve.
But it's movie, so on with show.

I agree.
As to Graham's acting - I think she's pretty good in Drugstore Cowboy, Boogie Nights and Bowfinger. I don't think she has great range, though, but since I haven't seen this film yet, I guess we'll see.

Your long sentence has a verb but no subject.
