Sharp, greedy bastards

For the record, I don't believe all the sharp, greedy bastards are Republicans or all Republicans are sharp, greedy bastards, only that the Republican Party's one and only economic idea is that the sharp, greedy bastards will make everything all right for all of us so we should all get off their backs.

For the record, I don't believe all the sharp, greedy bastards are Republicans

but the vast majority of them clearly are, you can look it up!

or all Republicans are sharp, greedy bastards,

there's also racists & theocrats, and the different combinations of all 3! Figure them all out for fun!

only that the Republican Party's one and only economic idea is that the sharp, greedy bastards will make everything all right for all of us, so back off.

This is true:

Other Republican ideas:

1) The "rapture" will make it all better! ( theocrats )
2) This is all the fault of brown people! ( racists )
3) This is all the fault of queers! ( racists AND theocrats )
4) What time is NASCAR and/or American Idol on TV? ( redneck racists taken in by theocrats )

I have to go throw up now.......

I think Republicans have great faith in the power of the marketplace. They believe that if government can be bought and sold, we will get the best government possible. Election laws and ethics codes interfere with the wisdom of the marketplace.

Rod Dreher, a former writer for the National Review, would agree with you about the Republican party. In a book (I'm reading now) called "Crunchy Cons," he calls the Democrats "the party of Lust" and the Republicans "the party of Greed."

I've been trying to tell myself what you are saying here is true for these last few years...trying.

«the Republican Party's one and only economic idea is that the sharp, greedy bastards will make everything all right for all of us»

Perhaps that's the idea of some republicans; as to those that have the cultural leadership of the party nowadays, I think that's not quite right, because their ideology looks like:

''the sharp, greedy bastards will make everything all right for themselves, and the rest of you are parasitic and exploitative losers, and you deserve to be spanked''

More or less the old ''it is immoral to leave suckers their money'' reprocessed into a philosophy by Ayn Rand.
